Stress Resilience Coaching

You may be aware that the effects of stress are one of the major causes of illness in the world today, but did you know that around 90% of illness worldwide is caused by lifestyle as opposed to our DNA? Our health and disease do not lie in our DNA; our lifestyle determines much of how well and how long we live.

Many people in the world today are feeling stressed and recognise that, but are not sure what to do, or don't recognise they are stressed and just carry on until they become ill.

Stress resilience coaching gives you the guidance and support you may need to reduce stress, develop better coping mechanisms and improve your life.

What Causes Stress?

Stress Resilience Coaching

There are many contributing factors that can lead to stress. There are external stressors such as divorce, death, money worries, exams, children and families, work or being too busy, and internal stressors such as pessimism, negative thoughts, unrealistic expectations and striving for perfection.

How to Manage Stress

As a stress resilience coach, understanding how your stressors are causing physiological changes enables me to guide you through the process of better managing your day to day life. I'll help you put in place lifestyle changes that can help to build up a resilience to stress.

By introducing lifestyle management changes you can determine the way you live, which will be the biggest determinant of how well you live. Remember — fitness is not necessarily wellness.

Lifestyle changes include:

Movement. Learning to do the right exercise at the right time.

Nourishment. Having optimal health, improved gut health, controlling blood sugar and maintaining an energy balance.

Recovery. Reducing inflammation, improving sleep, increasing physical recovery.

Thought. To be more optimistic and happier.

Heart Rate Variability

Firstbeat

One of the key factors in understanding how our bodies are keeping the balance between stress, recovery and fitness is Heart Rate Variability (H.R.V) and I am pleased to say that Pulse is an accredited partner of FIRSTBEAT TECHNOLOGIES who are the leading provider of physiological based data for use in coaching.

My clients use Firstbeat data results to gain an insight into how lifestyle is influencing their day-to-day stress and recovery balance and by using this data can adapt to make positive changes leading to better overall health.

If you are an individual who would like to know more about FIRSTBEAT and how you can use it to learn more about your body, or if you're an employer who would like to introduce a wellness programme for your staff, then please contact me.

"Having been a client of Andy for over 5 years I have found stress resilience coaching to be extremely beneficial. I have recently started to use the heart rate variability data to see how I can best manage my day to day work, life and exercise balance. Andy has helped me make the small changes that hopefully will lead to less stress."

FAQ

What is stress resilience coaching?

Helping clients add lifestyle changes that bring positive outcomes in achieving a balance in both recovery and stress.

How much does it cost?

Your initial consultation is £50, then it's £40 per session thereafter. If you choose to use HRV measuring devices, a price will be provided after the consultation.

Are you qualified to coach stress resilience?

Yes, I achieved my qualification through Future Practice.

How do sessions work?

You'll have an initial consultation to discuss certain aspects of your day-to-day lifestyle and goals. Then working together, you and I adopt certain changes through a period, with the aim of bringing a positive outcome in reducing your stress.

How do I find out if I'm stressed?

There are many ways to determine your stress level, from talking to a coach about sleep, nutrition, recovery, environment and thought, to filling in questionnaires, all of which I provide. One of the most accurate ways is through measuring your Heart Rate Variability (HRV), which allows you to see how your body is managing stress, recovery, and exercise. I am a partner of Firstbeat Technologies, the leading provider of HRV technology.

How many sessions does it take?

Everyone is different so there is no definitive answer, but building in small changes and looking at the results over time can have a positive impact on your stress levels.

Do you offer just individual coaching?

I offer both individual coaching and business coaching. With business coaching, the HRV measuring data is supplied to employees to analyse their stress levels at work and at home.

If you have any questions that are not answered here, please feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to help.
